Samuel A. Eyitayo

Samuel A. Eyitayo has been in the U.S. Government services in Nigeria for about 14 years. Before his current position as the Director of the Whitney M. Young Jr. Information Resource Center in the U.S. Consulate General, Lagos, he was the webmaster for U.S. Mission in Nigeria for over a decade. He has attended several professional courses in US, UK, Austria, South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia to mention a few. He has received several awards on the job. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Library Association and distinguished fellow of the Global Salzburg Seminar in Austria.

As an IRC Director, he is responsible for performing in-depth research, outreach and other library-focused functions. In addition, he organizes regular Internet Literacy programs on Using the Internet Effectively where Social media and other useful research tools are taught. The beneficiaries include IRC members drawn from all sectors such as journalism, civil society, military, government and the academia.
